Not so happening...

Let's be honest, I have not deserved weight loss.  It's true, I have put no effort in this past week, despite my promising previous post.  Lazy!  That's the truth.

I did not gain weight, although that is a miracle in its self.  I should have gained like 80 lbs.  This week it will be hard to watch my calories again, but I am going to do my best. I feel bloated, heavy, lumpy, disgusting!   No more going out to eat for me after this Saturday's January friends birthday dinner at my favorite, Stir Crazy.  mmmmmmmmmmmmm Asian food.  Why are Asian's so skinny, but their food is so deliciously bad for you.  Well, I guess that's what I get for loving Asian food, but living in America.

Anyway, I'm off to Joyce Delp's house for some non diet friendly chicken salad.  I am REALLY hoping to lose 2 lbs this week.  We'll see what happens.

Holidays are over: Game on!

Ok, I know it's a lifestyle change, blah blah blah, but lifestyle, it's all relative, right?

Right before Thanksgiving I was down to 117.  It is January 20th today, and I am back up to 125.  I read that the average person gains 7 to 10 lbs during the holiday season (stinkin holiday parties).  Well, the good news is, I know I can lose it by just doing what I need to do.

So it's time to get my booty back in the gym, time to start eating healthy and watching my calories again, and time to re-adapt to a healthier lifestyle.  I've missed my weekly weigh ins, time to stop dodging them.

I will be posting again next week, hoping for a good weigh in...

I'm a slightly successful failure...

My intentions were to fast this past week.  I thought it would help my body detox, and in respect to detoxification, crave less fast food.  I failed at fasting.  Here is what went wrong:
Wednesday:  I was feeling extremely tired... I drank a 5 hour energy, and wham! Instant headache.  Those things are cursed.  My headache lasted two straight days.
Thursday:  My head was still pounding, so in my crazy fit of 5 hour headache rage, I consumed mass amounts of horrific food.
Friday: Back on the wagon
Saturday:  Nikki's delicious lasagna brought me back down.  It was so good though, and it was worth every bite.
Sunday:  Family get together.  I actually didn't eat too badly, but I also didn't completely fast.
Yesterday and today were good days, although I haven't used my fasting time for prayer; I've really just crammed it with work.  That defeats the purpose a bit, since my intention is to become spiritually fat and physically thin.
My weight is down however.  I am at 120, and I have every intention of being well below that by the end of the week.  This is one of those weeks where, despite all of my success, I'm am feeling very disappointed with my body.  It's hard to think that 5 more pounds will take off these love handles.  Stupid child bearing hips.

If you are looking for me, I'll be at the gym...

Three Pound Weight Loss Week!

Another three pounds have been defeated.  That's right, I'm down to 122!  I am seven pounds away from my newest goal weight of 115, although, it seems like it would take more than 7 lbs to rid this body of its lumps.  The good news is, all of the toning I have been doing is starting to pay off.  I can see some shape in my arms.  Now, to conquer those obliques and saddle bags...

My friend Brandon and I decided to take a spin on No Shave November and start No Eat November.  Just kidding, I'm really not going to psycho over my weight loss, but I am going to fast a bit for a few reasons. The first reason is that I want to cleanse my body of all of the processed crap that is in there.  I believe that I my weight loss methods/maintenance would become more effective, and that I would have more energy.  The second reason is that I have been thinking a lot about how I would love to be physically thin, but more than anything, I want to be spiritually fat. Fasting can help me with both.

Due the negative connotations about fasting, and my own previous weight loss habits, here is a link to encourage you about the safety and benefits:  http://falconblanco.com/health/fasting.htm.  Thanks Brandon for sharing!

The pressure is on in the biggest eating month of the year.  I really want to be at 115 the day the hop on our plane to Mexico.  I plan to act like I don't know what a diet is while I am down there, but until then, I really need to step up my game.  For example, the stuffed crust pizza I had for dinner last night, and the nachos I had for lunch are not going to be acceptable until Mexico.  We leave on December 7 and return December 11.

Now, back to my busy life, thanks for reading my blog!

Catching up...

I've been sick for three straight weeks. Boo. Well, I am better now, but honestly, I let it get pretty bad before I finally went to the doctor, and the only reason I finally went was the fear of losing an eyeball. Turns out my eye was just fine, it was just sinus pressure and I was not at risk of my eyeball popping out. Anyway, you would think that I would have lost a lot of weight, what with having strep throat, a sinus infection and then pneumonia. WRONG. I am so backwards, whenever I feel sick, I tend to eat more, in hopes that I will feel better faster. It's ok though, after all of the crappy food I stuffed down my face, I didn't really gain any weight. After a few weeks off of really working out (although I snuck in a few workouts, despite illness, which exacerbated my sickliness), I am finally back to my workout regiment. Now to get myself back on track with my daily calorie intake...

I was a little thrown off my rocker, I fell off the wagon, or however you want to word it. Either way, I'm back on track now. I weight 125, which is a mere ten pounds away from my new goal of 115. I have really focused on toning, which I can feel the muscular difference, however, it doesn't seem visible yet to me. Even though I haven't lost weight in a couple of weeks (well four weeks to be exact), people are still constantly asking me if I have lost more weight. I guess that's a good sign. I really honestly haven't lost weight in a while, but I guess I'm starting to look thinner. I feel a little heavy right now, but I know that I am moving towards my goal weight, and no matter how long it takes, it will happen.

In December I am going to Mexico with my husband and friends in celebration of our anniversary (and theirs too). I hope to feel comfortable in whatever I am wearing by the time that rolls around. Curse you Thanksgiving! I hate that Thanksgiving offers all of my favorite foods in one meal. I also hate that it honestly isn't just one day. I would be just fine if it were only one day, but we have to celebrate it 8000 times with everyone we know before the month is over, therefore adding unneeded inches to my thighs and obliques (aka lovehandles/hatehandles). Also, apparently, I have built in thigh storage. Fanny packs are unnecessary in my life, since I have saddle bags. Those have got to go. With the amount of squats and lunges I have been doing, look out, you better pack your bags saddle bags, you're moving out.

Honestly, I am so incredibly sick of working so hard, but I am also sick of not being at my goal weight. It's a double edged sword, so I will just keep pressing on.

In other news, my mother in law, being in the medical profession, sat in a lecture where a doctor spoke on his weight loss research. In all of the people studied, those who consumed a certain amount of protein (which I cannot remember the exact amount, but I will find out for the next post), within 30 minutes after their workout, increased their metabolic rate by a huge amount for the rest of the evening. They lost weight and burned fat at a substantially faster rate. I have put this to the test. While I haven't lost pounds at a faster rate, I haven't necessarily gained the weight I should have during my binge eating and total disregard for my calorie counting. That is a sign to me that it does help. I will keep experimenting with this as I am back in to my normal routine.

10 more pounds, I'm sick of the battle, but pressing on.

120's Baby... Word to your mother...

So 128 is exactly 8 lbs from my original goal of 120. No need to thank me for doing the math for you, I am kind like that. These last few weeks have been slow, and painful. I pretty much murdered myself in the gym yesterday (wear padded shorts when cycling), but I'm still losing, and that's what counts.

Technically I have until November 23 to lose all of my weight in the recommended year. I will not likely lose 8 lbs this week, actually, let's be real, I will NOT lose 8 lbs this week. So I will continue on this journey, and actually aim for 5 extra pounds, which I was trying to lose in the first place before I got pregnant. I am hoping to lose 13 lbs in 6 weeks. That seems reasonable right? Since February, I have lost a grand total of 37 lbs. I am proud of that. It wouldn't have taken me so long, except that I haven't consistently ate healthy, exercised, or even cared! I still have the "make up for it tomorrow" mentality. I guess it comes with the gender, apparently many share this form of procrastinator-ism.

So here's to you Misses Robinson. Just kidding, the song came on my Pandora, so I thought I would type it. I also suffer from being easily distracted. Wait, did they just say cupcake in the song? Speaking of cupcakes, by suggestion from a friend, I made cupcakes for my husband last night. I hate baking. I also really do not care that much for sweets. I did eat one, but I can't cook and not taste test it to see the level of suckiness it has reached. Maybe learning to cook will be my next blog, but then I will have to restart the weight loss blog soon after. I guess the learning to cook thing has been done (see Julia and Julia).

So, for all intensive purposes, I have 8 lbs to lose (but my goal is to lose 13, I know, it's confusing if you are not a girl), and 1 more week to do so. Goodbye and good afternoon from your friend who is finally in the 120s!

Pound by boring Pound

Painful. That's what losing one pound per week is. Annoying, that would be another accurate description. I guess it's better than zero pounds. I probably could have been more focused, less cheat days, more workouts, but life is life, it's busy, crazy, and fast.

So, two more weeks and ten more pounds to lose. Impossible? Probably. I will try my absolute hardest to get as close to my goal as possible, but maybe (no, probably) it will only take a few extra weeks to make it.

I am at 130 this week. Two more weeks until my goal date of October 1, and ten more pounds until my goal of 120...
